Rodbourne Cheney Primary School was awash with red, white and blue as pupils and staff came together to mark VE Day with a picnic and party on the school field.
Dressed in patriotic colours, the whole school community joined in the celebration. The field was transformed into a sea of red, white and blue flags, as the pupils enjoyed their sandwiches and snacks.
Headteacher Sarah Harris said:
“It was wonderful to see our children come together in such a meaningful way. VE Day is a chance to celebrate peace and community, and today’s picnic was a perfect reflection of that.”
The event not only commemorated a historic moment but also created lasting memories for the children, reminding them of our British values of; Democracy, Rule of law, Individual liberty, Mutual respect and Tolerance of those of different faiths.
